Millburn Pedestrian Struck By Car Allegedy Driven By Springfield Woman

Millburn Police say a woman was transported to the hospital after being hit in a Main Street crosswalk this morning. The driver was allegedly a 75-year-old Springfield woman.

A 31-year-old woman was hospitalized this morning after being hit by a car in downtown Millburn while crossing the street, Millburn police said. 

The woman, a Staten Island resident, was hit at the intersection of Millburn Avenue and Main Street around 8:50 a.m. by a 75-year-old Springfield woman, Captain Bernie Neuhaus said. 

According to Neuhaus, the woman left Starbucks and crossed Main Street in the crosswalk, heading east, when she was hit by a 2012 Toyota Corolla. She was transported to Saint Barnabas Medical Center in Livingston for non-life theatening injuries, police said.

The driver was issued a summons for failure to yield to a pedestrian in crosswalk. 

According to police, weather was not a factor in the accident. Police have not released the names of those involved.
