Neighborhood Watch Program to be Revived, Committeeman Says

Ziad Andrew Shehady made announcement Tuesday after last week's vehicle theft and chase through town.

In light of Thursday's early morning car theft, Springfield Committeeman Ziad Andrew Shehady announced Tuesday evening at a Township Committee meeting that neighborhood watch programs will be revived.

Shehady said he had spoken with police and residents interested in learning more about possibly starting a watch or volunteering should visit this website.

In September, those who have signed up will be contacted by an officer and will be provided with resources and guidance on how to bring back neighborhood and community watch programs.

Committee members as well as a resident said police did "a fantastic job" in arresting two of the three involved in Thursday's incident.
