Police Arrest Father and Son In Traffic Stop

Father and son were found to have active warrants.

Sergio Idrovo has a lot in common with his son. Both live in Newark.  They share a name. Unfortunately, Springfield police say, they had something else in common when they were driving through Springfield in late May: active warrants for their arrests.

Police say the senior Idrovo, 48, was pulled over near Sandmeier School on South Springfield Avenue at 1:30 on Tuesday, May 25 after he failed to stop for a pedestrian in a crosswalk. Upon investigation, police reportedly found that Idrovo had active warrants failing to appear in Newark Municipal Court on both traffic and criminal offenses.

After arresting Idrovo, Sr. the police checked to make sure his 26-year-old son could legally drive them home. A background check reportedly showed that his license had been revoked and that, like his father, he had an outstanding warrant from the Newark Municipal Court for failure to appear on traffic offenses.
