Three Hit-and-Runs in Three Days Under Investigation

'There is little-to-no information available about the fleeing vehicles in all three crashes,' police said.

Three hit-and-runs have taken place in Springfield since Friday, police said.

"Two involved parked vehicles that were struck; the third was a vehicle that was struck while in transit," Cpl. Jon Rachel said. "It appears all were minor as the reports indicated the vehicles were driven away from the scene and there were no reported injuries."

The first incident occurred Friday afternoon. A 2001 BMW M3 traveling on Morris Avenue near Battlehill Avenue was struck by a black Mazda 3 four-door. No license plate information was obtained.

The second incident also took place on Friday and was reported shortly before 8:30 p.m. A 2007 Toyota Camry was struck while it was parked on Wabeno Avenue near Garden Oval.

A third hit-and-run was reported before 4 p.m. Sunday when a 2012 Nissan Rogue was hit while it was parked in the General Greene Plaza on Morris Avenue.

An investigation is ongoing but "there is little-to-no information available about the fleeing vehicles in all three crashes," said Rachel, who added that there is no reason to believe that the three are connected.

Anyone who witnessed any of these incidents is asked to contact Rachel at 973- 921-1996.
