Reports of recent arrests in Springfield; inclusion does not imply a conviction.

The following information was provided by Springfield police. 

10/13/2012    12:34 a.m.    Location: Hotel 304 West parking lot - 304 Route 22 West

Springfield Police officers responded to the Hotel 304 West on a reported disturbance where it was reported that 2 males were acting disorderly inside of the hotel. Officers stopped the subjects in a vehicle. Anthony Parker age 26 of Springfield and Edwin Saint-Louis age 28 of Woodbridge were both arrested by Officers Erik Knudsen and Brian Trotman after the two were found to be in the possession of Marijuana (under 50 grams), Drug Paraphernalia and a small amount of what was believed to be Cocaine. Parker was further arrested for a warrant issued by the Union County Superior Court for Non-Support. Saint-Louis was released while Parker was turned over to the Union County Sheriff's Office. Their initial court appearance set in the Union County Superior Court.

10/13/2012     10:47 p.m.     Location: Route 22 West

Officer Melissa Esteves stopped a motor vehicle for being operated with a suspended registration. The suspension was due to municipal court bench warrants being issued for the registered owner. As the operator, Michael Major age 45 of Newark, was the owner he was subsequently arrested for 2 active warrants for his arrest issued by the Newark Municipal Court for failing to appear on traffic offenses.

10/19/2012     2:13 a.m.     Location: Morris Avenue @ Baltusrol Way

Officer Ryan Westover stopped a motor vehicle after he observed it to go through a red light traffic signal and subsequently make an illegal left turn after going through the light. The driver, Esteban Serrano age 20 of Summit was arrested for Operating a Motor Vehicle While Under the Influence of Alcohol or Drugs with the added provision of being under the age of 21. He was later released with a municipal court appearance date.

10/19/2012     7:21 p.m.     Location: Morris Avenue

Christian Steele age 22 of Milford was arrested by Officer Joseph Leniart after it was found that there was an active warrant issued for his arrest by the Milford Municipal Court fopr failing to appear in court on traffic tickets.

10/19/2012     11:00 p.m.    Location: Route 22 West

Officer John Laurencelle stopped Amanda Swaby age 23 of East Orange for operating a motor vehicle with a suspended driver license and registration. She was subsequently arrested after she attempted to use a false name and other fictitious identity information in an attempt to have tickets issued to the bogus identity. She was charging with Hindering Apprehension and released with an initial court appearance date in the Springfield Municipal Court.

10/20/2012     12:17 a.m.    Location: Route 22 East

Jahmod Sutton-Harcum age 20 of Plainfield was stopped for operating a motor vehicle with a cracked windshield by Officer Ryan Westover. He was subsequently arrested after being found to be in possession of Marijuana (under 50 grams) and Drug Paraphernalia. He was later released with an initial court appearance date in the Springfield Municipal Court.

10/20/2012     2:54 a.m.     Location: Linden Avenue

Spencer Elliott age 58 of Plainfield was stopped by Officer John Laurencelle for operating a motor vehicle while in the possession of an open container of an alcoholic beverage. He was subsequently arrested for Operating a Motoro Vehicle While Under the Influence of Alcohol or Drugs. He was later released with an initial court appearance date set for the Springfield Municipal Court.

10/21/2012     11:57 p.m.    Location: Route 22 West

Officer Keith Christopher stopped a motor vehicle for traffic violations and determined that there was an active arrest warrant for the registered owner issued by the Irvington Municipal Court for failing to appear in court to answer traffic tickets. Kimberly Daniels age 26 of Hillside was arrested after it was found she attempted to use a false name to avoid being arrested on the warrant. She was charged with Hindering Apprehsion and was further charged with the Possession of Marijuana (under 50 grams). She has an initial court appearance for the criminal charges in the Springfield Municipal Court.
