Springfield Police Blotter: Arrests for DUI, Outstanding Warrants

DATE: 03/07/2013     TIME: 9:13 pm      LOCATION: Route 22 East

Officer ERCAN SIDAR stopped a motor vehicle for having a broken tail
light. The driver, Shane EDWARDS age 22 of Westfield, was subsequently
arrested for an outstanding bench warrant issued by the Rahway Municipal
Court for failure to appear in court on a motor vehicle offense. He was later
released from custody after posting bail.


DATE: 03/08/2013     TIME: 5:47 pm      LOCATION: Mountain Avenue

Officers ANTHONY REIMER and ERCAN SIDAR responded to Jersey City
where they arrested Andrew NADEL for outstanding bench warrants issued
by the Springfield Municipal Court for contempt. NADEL, age 24 of Westfield,
was subsequently remanded to the Union Couty Jail in Elizabeth pending a
court appearance date set in the Springfield Municipal Court.


DATE: 03/08/2013     TIME: 11:06 pm     LOCATION: Morris Avenue

Officers ANTHONY REIMER and ERCAN SIDAR stopped a motor vehicle for
having no tail lights illuminate on Morris Avenue. While speaking with the
driver, who claimed he was in Springfield while traveling from Newark to
Bayonne, the officers suspected he was under the influence and after
field sobriety tests they placed the driver, Christian VICUNACALLE age 23
of Bayonne, under arrest for Operating a Motor Vehicle Under the Influence
of Alcoholic Beverages. He was later released with an initial court appearance
date set in the Springfield Municipal Court.


DATE: 03/08/2013     TIME: 11:42 pm     LOCATION: Victory Road

Corporal Keith DOHERTY was in a parking lot of an apartment complex and
as he was approaching the exit he observed a vehicle that was in the process
of entering the lot abruptly stop, back up, and drive off. A check of the license
plate showed outstanding arrest warrants for the registered owner. After the
vehicle was stopped the registered owner, Mikel ROSSIGNOL age 27 of Rahway
was arrested for outstanding bench warrants for failing to appear in court that
were issued by the municipal courts of Metuchen and Westfield. ROSSIGNOL
was later released after posting bail for both of the bench warrants.
