Springfield Police Make Arrests for Heroin and Paraphernalia Possession

The following arrest information was provided by the Springfield Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

On Feb. 19 at 11:36 a.m. on South Springfield Avenue:

Ryan Samuel, age 25 of Scotch Plains, and Beau Lia, age 23 of Fanwood, were both arrested by Sgt. Steven Hollyfield after the car they were in was stopped for having an expired registration.

Both were subsequently arrested for possession of hypodermic needles and possession of drug paraphernalia and Samuel was further charged with the possession of heroin.

Both were released with an initial court appearance in the Union County Superior Court.
