Tractor Trailer Knocks Down Power Line on HIllside Ave

Police are directing traffic away from the road.

Police are redirecting cars away from Hillside Ave. near route 22 after a tractor trailer hit a utility poll and dislodged a power line.

The accident occurred late this afternoon on the stretch of road next to the Barnes & Noble parking lot. A number of police cars are stationed by the scene. At least two businesses have lost power; Barnes and Noble and Walgreens have not been impacted.

Police do not know if the wire is live. They have contacted the power company, who estimated that a crew would be out to handle the wire.
