Two Men Arrested for Drug Possession, Paraphernalia, at Springfield Hotel

Along with drugs, the pair reportedly had scale with familiar look.

Late last month, two men were arrested in a Springfield hotel with drugs and a small scale disguised to look like an iPod.

According to Springfield police, employees of on Route 22 contacted the department when two of their guests refused to leave their room or book a second night upon checkout on April 21. Springfield Police Officers Keith Doherty and Officer Melissa Esteves reportedly encountered the odor of marijuana in the room.

A small amount of marijuana was allegedly in the room, as well as several prescription pills. In addition, the officers reported the room had Tupperware containers, ziplock bag and the aforementioned scale, all of which the department believes were used to aid the packaging and sale of marijuana.

 The two men, a 20-year-old from Millburn and a 22-year-old West Orange resident, were charged with possession of marijuana under 50 grams, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of prescription legend drugs.
