Committee Votes No on Golf Club Hunt

The vote was put on agenda at the last minute.

Considering the lack of support the proposal got at the Nov. 9 Township Committee workshop meeting, it’s not particularly surprising that the deer hunt requested by the Baltrusol Golf Club was voted down at Tuesday night’s Township Committee meeting.

The golf club had requested permission to allow hunters onto the course to hunt deer. Mayor Bart Fraenkel and other members of the Township Committee voiced concerns about safety issues regarding homes near the course at the workshop meeting. Committee members Ziad Shehady and David Barnett expressed interests in gathering more information before deciding on the hunt.

The vote was two against and three abstaining. Mayor Fraenkel and Deputy Mayor Beth Manes cast votes against the proposal.
