The last time I made a post to the township committee and or members of the Springfield Improvement District (SID) was back in May of 2011. My questions went unanswered here on the Patch back then and since there is no website for the SID or access to minutes of the meeting, then hopefully they will be answered this time here on the Patch. As a result of attending last night's township meeting and having learned during the public comment portion of the meeting (which the Mayor prevented anyone from asking questions) from another resident that the Springfield SID has collected 300K to date, I invite anyone once again to answer my questions again. In the Patriot Times, it stated that the SID will now be hanging up 100 banners throughout town advertising local businesses. In light of that & last night's divulgement that the SID has collected 300K to date, here are my questions: 1. How much have these banners costed the BID? 2. With 300K collected, how does hanging up banners represent an aesthetic improvement to the donwtown? 3. What if any downtown projects has the SID decided to take on? 4. If there are any of the projects for which the SID has collected monies on - beyond hanging up 100 banners - when will they actually begin? 5. Why isn't the SID having evening meetings so the public can have the option of being present? 6. Why doesn't the SID have a website or FB page? 7. What is happening with the rest of the 300K?
