Hillside Avenue Opening Delayed Again
A water main conflicting with the culvert needed to be relocated, creating additional work and subsequent delays.
Springfield Township residents eager for the Hillside Avenue construction project to be completed will have to wait a bit longer.
The county project, which began in July and involves the installation of a new culvert, was originally expected to be completed by Sept. 8 but after it was determined that a water main conflicting with the culvert needed to be relocated, a new end date was set for Tuesday.
The Township of Springfield was notified by Union County that the additional work has caused yet another delay. A new completion date has been set for Friday, Oct. 18.
The Township will keep residents informed if any further delays occur.
