We originally quoted a July 30 NJ Transit advisory about the route 66 detour. NJ Transit amended the changes to the route in an Aug. 3 message. A Patch reader writes that there was some confusion over the transit change this morning.

"The route that you quoted 'left on Linden, left on Wabeno, right on Mountain' could not be followed this morning by the 114 buses because the intersection of Wabeno and Mountain was closed," the Patch reader said in an email. "According to what the Springfield police officers told the bus driver, the street would be closed all day and the buses would need to continue on Linden Avenue to Morris Avenue."

He added: "This morning's confusion resulted in my bus being nearly 20 minutes late!"

According to NJ Transit, the detours will be active until Thursday, Aug. 6 at 6 p.m.
