New Snow Update from Mayor Keffer

Approximately one third of Springfield homes without power.

JCP&L continues to react and prioritize based on volume of calls. If you have a power outage, call the number on your bill.

As reported by the Patch, the Governor has declared a State of Emergency. JCP&L reports about 1/3 of the households in town have no power. JCP&L also reports that today’s snow storm event has caused significant tree and equipment damage throughout the northern New Jersey service area.

We continue to work to assess the damage and make conditions safe. At this time it appears this may be a multiple day event.

For people in need of shelter, we are working with the Summit area Red Cross to open a shelter. More to follow.
