To address the need to fill its zoning official vacancy, Springfield has entered a working relationship with Millburn, which has loaned one of its officials at no cost for a three-week trial.
Township Administrator Anthony Cancro said the working relationship between the two municipalities came about despite advertising with the League of Municipalities and after receiving resumes he deemed “mediocre at best.”
The administrator said he approached five local towns – including Summit, New Providence and Union –none of which had any capacity to help.
Deputy Mayor Richard Huber suggested Cancro reach out to Mountainside due to the help Springfield is providing to its fire department.
