Photos: Volunteers and Municipal Employees Honored for Sandy Response

Township response to traumatic November storm recognized.

Springfield officials and emergency responders recognized the extraordinary efforts of Springfield residents and employees during Tropical Storm Sandy at the most recent township Committee meeting. Volunteers for organizations like the Springfield First Aid Squad and CERT were honored alongside township auxiliary police officers and municipal workers.

In additon to the awards and honors, Office of Emergency Management Coordinator Scott Seidel presented Springfield Mayor Ziad Shehady with a special switch as a humorous reference to the oft-heard request to switch the power back on during the storm.
