Record: Rte. 78 May Get Tolls

I-80, I-295 and 287 also considered likely to become paid highways.

Transportation experts believe Rte. 78 and other heavily trafficked highways may be turned into toll roads. A report on state transportation delivered to New Jersey Governor Chris Christie on Jan. 22 recommended that toll roads be implemented. The report did not specify which roads should receive tolls; experts believe Rte. 78, I-80, I-295 and 287 are the likeliest roads to receive them.
