Springfield Adds New Flu Shot Date

Officials add date after realizing the date coincides with Rosh Hashanah.

Following concerns that Springfield's Jewish residents may not be able to attend the local flu shot session because of Rosh Hashanah, township officials have added a new date for flu shots.

In addition to the original Sept. 29 and Oct. 5 date, the regional health department will also administer seasonal flu shots in Springfield on Oct. 15.

Residents had contacted Springfield's Township Committee noting that the Jewish high holiday Rosh Hashanah overlaps with the Sept. 29 date. Officials added the new date to accommodate residents who might be able to attend.
