Springfield Proclaims Local State of Emergency

Proclamation states that only emergency vehicles allowed on streets.

It's official: get off of Springfield's roads. 

Following a meeting of township emergency responders, elected officials and department heads, Springfield announced that the Township is officially under a state of emergency. 

The emergency proclamation prohibits non-emergency vehicles from driving on Springfield roads begining at 6 p.m., Oct. 29. According to the proclamation, the traffic ban is meant to allow police and other emergency vehicles access to township areas under emergency conditions.

In addition, the proclamation grants Springfield police the authority to remove cars that are obstructing emergency traffic.
