Springfield Student Who Sought Christie's Political Advice Falls Short in Election

Zack Martini looks to future elections.

You can’t win ‘em all.

Despite going to the top for advice about winning his election, Springfield Middle School student Zack Martini came short in his bid for election to Florence Gaudineer’s student council.

Last month, Martini garnered national attention . Christie told the sixth grader to gather his friends under the logic that the more people that are around you, the more it looks like you’re going to win. He told Martini to ask people for their vote and to make colorful posters and hang them up until they tell you to take them down.

Martini’s strategy session with Christie landed him on several news networks, including ABC and Fox News, but not in the political office he was seeking. But the loss is just a setback for Martini, who is already looking towards the future.

“Yes, the loss of the election was a disappointment for Zack, but he is confident he will get another chance in the future,” Martini’s mother Debby Wolf told Patch. “And he wishes the winner, Zoe Frei, the best of luck!”
