Postal Problems to be Resolved Imminently, Township Committeeman Says
Committeemen Ziad Andrew Shehady has created a form for residents to provide feedback regarding mail delivery issues.
Following weeks of complaints regarding unreliable mail delivery, Township Committeeman Ziad Andrew Shehady said the issue should be resolved by Friday evening.
Shehady said he stopped by Congressman Leonard Lance's (NJ-07) office two weeks ago to make him aware that some residents were not receiving their mail until late into the evening, while others were missing delivery completely.
"Committeeman Jerry Fernandez and I have been in frequent contact with our Representative's staff to request assistance," Shehady said. "We've received assurances that steps are being taken to rectify the problem.
"Committeeman Fernandez and I, through our discussions with Congressman Lance's staff and with the United States Postal Service staff, have been told that measures have been put in place to ensure that after today, Friday, January 24th, residents will not have any more of these mail delivery problems on any of the 15 mail routes in Springfield."
Shehady said if, after delivery ends Friday evening, residents are still missing expected mail or continue to experience problems, he has established a dedicated feedback page to help him address residents issues accurately.
"I encourage residents to fill out the short form at http://usps.springfieldnj.us as often as necessary," Shehady said.
