Baseball Pros and Springfield Police Lead Elementary Students in Anti-Bullying Presentation

Program looks to "strike out" bullying

This week, bullying went 0 for three in Springfield.

The Springfield police teamed up with two prominent members of the Atlantic League Baseball team the Somerset Patriots in an anti-bullying presentation at two of Springfield’s elementary school.

Patriots Third Base/Hitting Coach Travis Anderson and the team’s mascot Sparkee joined with Springfield Police Officer Danielle Kahora in a “Strike Out Bullying” campaign at and schools on May 24. The program teaches students how to battle bullying with six pillars of character: trustworthiness, respect, responsibility, fairness, caring and citizenship.
