Board of Ed Race to be Uncontested

Scott Donner, Scott Silverstein and Patricia Venezia have filed petitions to run for Springfield's three Board of Education seats that will open up at the end of the year. 

Silverstein and Venezia are currently Board members, who serve as Student Government Committee and Sports Committee chairs respectively. Silverstein also represents the Board as the New Jersey School Boards Association Delegate.

Donner is a newcomer to the Board, which is comprised of nine members who each serve three year terms with elections staggered so that residents can vote for members each year. The board generally meets twice a month, on Monday evenings, at the Independent Media Center at Dayton High School. 

Election Day is Nov. 5, 2013.
