Christina Karas of Springfield Receives Wakefern-Shoprite Scholarship

Dayton grad to receive $2,000 for studies.

Wakefern Food Corp. today announced that Christina Karas of Springfield, N.J. is a recipient of the 2012 Wakefern-ShopRite Scholarship. With the award, Karas will receive $2,000 for her undergraduate studies. 

Karas is a Drew University pursuing a degree in Biology and Chemistry. She graduated from Jonathan Dayton High School as a member of the Tri-Beta Biological Honors Society and was also active in animal rescue. 

“We are honored to recognize our local students for their academic achievement and we are proud to offer them help to support their educational goals,” stated Joe Sheridan, Wakefern-ShopRite President and COO. 

The twenty-seven year-old Wakefern-ShopRite Scholarship Program helps Wakefern-ShopRite associates’ children or grandchildren further their education. The selection of winners was administered by Scholarship Management Services, a department of Scholarship America, a national non-profit educational support and student aid service organization.
