Micolta Nets 2 Goals to Propel Dayton Boys Soccer Into State Semis

Bulldogs best North Arlington in quarterfinal round.

The Jonathan Dayton High School boys varsity soccer team defeated North Arlington 4-1 Wednesday afternoon in the NJSIAA North 2, Group 1 quarterfinals. 

Daniel Micolta scored two goals for Dayton. Asmar Johnson and Andrew Reina each scored one. Goalkeeper Andrew Shanes made three saves for Dayton, while North Arlington's goalkeeper Matthew Smykowski made seven saves, according to NJ.com.

Both Dayton boys and girls soccer teams advance to the state semi-finals. The girls team shut out Roselle Park in the first match of Wednesday's double-header.
