UCEDC Workshop on Federal Contract Compliance Best Practices

The Union County Economic Development Corporation, UCEDC, a statewide non-profit economic development corporation, is hosting a free workshop giving federal contractor/subcontractors a clear direction on the employment compliance practices that can keep them in the running for government contracts.  The event is scheduled for Thursday, October 27, 2011 beginning with registration at 8:30am, workshop from 9:00am to 1:00pm at UCEDC’s headquarters, 1085 Morris Avenue
Union, NJ.

The US Department of Labor’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance (OFCCP) ensures that federal agency contractor/subcontractors adhere to laws and regulations requiring equal employment opportunity and affirmative action.  Senior staff from the OFCCP will provide detailed information on how to successfully comply with federal employment law.

In addition, staff from UCEDC’s Procurement Technical Assistance Center (PTAC) will lead an interactive session on What you Need to Know about Government Contracting.  Topics covered include monitoring and responding to solicitations, processing paperwork, and writing proposals.
