On Sunday, November 20, 2011, at 2:00pm, the Springfield Free Public Library will host a one hour presentation that will move the spirit with true accounts from those who served during and lived through WWII. Men fought, loved, dreamed and died all over the world. Heartfelt letters, personal accounts, famous quotes, and songs of the era help us remember how the world fought for six long years. The words are authentic. The
music pays tribute to the courage and soul of a great generation. The readings are by Tom Worsdale and James Dyne. The vocals, by Maggie Worsdale, include “Don’t Sit under the Apple Tree,” “Taking a Chance on Love,” “I’ll
Be Home for Christmas,” “I’ll Be Seeing You,” and a Vera Lynn Medley. Mrs. Worsdale has appeared at the library previously, portraying Merman, Garland and Streisand to great applause. Come and be touched by both the words and the music.
This free program has been made possible by the David Hendlin Memorial fund. The Springfield Free Public Library is located at 66 Mountain Avenue, Springfield. For additional information, call 973-376-4930.
