In an effort to reduce paper, ink and mailing costs, and ensure delivery with real-time reporting, Springfield public school students' progress reports and report cards will now be emailed to parents and guardians.
"Please be advised that progress reports will be delayed until Friday, October 11, 2013 as we work to implement this new process," Jonathan Dayton High School Principal Elizabeth Cresci wrote in an email to parents sent Monday.
In order to ensure success with this new feature, the district is asking families to make sure their current email address is on file. To review and update your contact information, please login to the PowerSchool Parent Portal.
Once logged in, click the PowerAnnouncement link on the left navigation menu. (See screenshot above.) You may need to click "Expand All" to review the fields and contact information currently in use. Please verify your email address and make any changes necessary. Then, click "Save Preferences" at the bottom of the screen. If you are unable to update your contact information for any reason, please feel free to contact the school office and so information can be updated.
Progress reports and report cards will be password protected. The password is your child's date of birth in the following format: 03-14-01. For example, if your child was born on March 14, 2001, then your password is 03-14-01. When you receive the email with the progress report attached next week, you will need to click on the attachment and type in the password in order to open the attachment.
