This year, Alexa McCaffrey was selected to participate in Dayton's Gifted and Talented Seminar, a program where students get involved with charities in the community. As a part of her project she coordinated a Variety Show in which she is incorporating her dancing talents.

Half of the show's proceeds will go to support Michael D’Sole Memorial Scholarship and the other half to the Pediatric Cancer Ward at Overlook Hospital. Michael D’Sole was Alexa's uncle and worked in the Springfield School District for 17 years. He passed away seven years ago from lung cancer at the age of 41. Mr. Fabiano, the Italian teacher at Dayton and a friend of her Uncle, created this scholarship in his memory.
