Dayton Athletes to Compete in Lineman Challenge
The competition itself is being hosted by Dayton, too.
Ten of Jonathan Dayton High School's most talented football players will represent the school on Saturday in the fifth annual northern New Jersey Lineman Challenge.
High school linemen and tight ends will compete in individual and group events including bench press, sled, tire flip, agility course, and tug of war. The day's goal is to encourage competition amongst players while fostering team cohesiveness and chemistry.
The regional competition is being held locally at Dayton this year with the help of Joe Goerge, high school head football coach.

Ten of his players -- freshmen Adam Kennedy and Connor Goad; sophomores Jesse DiCocco and Joe Policastro; and juniors Kareem Jackson, Chris Maslo, Mike Hess, Alfonso Cacciatore, Keith Heleno, and Christian Wortman -- will split into two teams, each having to work together using skills like body control, balance, speed, agility, and strength to earn the most points for each event.
The team with the bet cumulative score in all events will be crowned the "Iron Line."
