Jared Clayton Among Scholar-Athletes Honored by NJSIAA

12 Union County students awarded a total of $8,500 in college scholarships.

Jared Clayton, class of 2013 Jonathan Dayton High School graduate, is among 12 Union County high school students recently honored by the New Jersey Interscholastic Athletic Association (NJSIAA) 

The scholar-athletes were awarded a total of $8,500 in college scholarships.

Clayton, a 6-foot-1 point guard, received $1,000 from ShopRite. Since 1993, the NJSIAA has honored more than 5,800 New Jersey high school students and distributed more than $1 million in college scholarships through its scholar program, according to a press release.

In 2013 alone, NJSIAA gave a total of $133,500 to more than 170 high school students throughout the state, the release stated.
