Ribbon Cutting Ceremony Rescheduled for Friday

Thursday's storm canceled the ribbon cutting and the Bulldogs first home game.

After a storm sent home hundreds of disappointed fans Thursday night, the ribbon cutting ceremony at Jonathan Dayton High School's new turf field has been rescheduled for 6:30 p.m. Friday.

The event will precede the 7 p.m. game in which Dayton will face Bound Brook. The Bulldogs opened their season Friday afternoon against the Bernards Mountaineers and were defeated, 33-0. Because of the religious holiday beginning at sundown Friday, the ribbon cutting did not coincide with the opening game.

Expected at the ceremony are Springfield Superintendent Michael Davino, Dayton Principal Elizabeth Cresci, Sam Mardini, assistant engineer for the Township of Springfield.

All are invited to attend.
