Roadrunners Remain Undefeated in Winter League
The winter soccer league team rolled over the Sayerville Pheonix on Saturday.
Local youth winter soccer league the Springfield Roadrunners defeated the Sayerville Phoenix by a score of 4-1 on Saturday. Feb.20 at the Westfield Armory. Scoring for Springfield were Danny Micolta (playing his first game as a forward in years), Matt Pacheco and Matt Kerr (2).
The scoring was impressive, but the team's defense has been an important part of their winner streak also. The Roadrunner defense has only surrendered thee goals in their last five games. Springfield's Winter League record stands at four wins two ties and zero losses.
Their next game this Saturday will be a showdown between the Roadrunners and Mountainside's undefeated team.
