Softball Clinic a Hit with Springfield Girls

Over 60 township girls attended sports clinic led by Dayton softball players.

On Sunday, April 29 the Dayton Softball team ran their second annual softball clinic fundraiser for the Girl’s Recreation Softball league in Springfield.  The clinic was extremely successful with over 60 girls attending the clinic.  The clinic was geared to develop softball skills for players ranging from 6 to 14 years old.

The instructors of the clinic included the Dayton Varsity and Junior Varsity players as well as the entire high school coaching staff.  At the clinic, it was announced the Dayton Softball program will be hosting a “Recreation Day” on Thursday, May 17, where players participating in Springfield Recreation Softball League will be recognized during the high school varsity game.

The home game will be held at the Springfield Pool Field at 4 p.m.  In addition, the game will be “Senior Day” where the high school senior and their parents will be recognized for their contributions to Dayton Athletics. This year the softball program will honor three seniors (Krista Delia, Kelli Murray and Leah Cunningham) prior to the game.

The recreation players will be participating in the pre-game warm up ritual with the Dayton Softball team.  If your daughter plays recreation softball and would like to participate in this event, please be to the Pool Field by 3:45 p.m. on May 17th.
