Springfield Lightning Wins Intercounty Youth Soccer League U14 Boys Championship Game.

Youth League soccer team garner championship after tough game.

On Saturday, Nov. 21, Springfield Lightning (8-1-1) played Clark Team One (8-1-1) for the U14 Boys Intercounty Youth Soccer League Championship. After a tough game that was tied 1-1 at the end of regulation time, the teams played two five Minute overtimes without a goal.

The game then had to be decided with a best out of five shoot out. Lightning's Goalie, Andrew Shanes, made two saves and two other Clark kicks went wide. While Springfield was able to score two times against Clark, the first by Gabriel Oguh and the second by Vincent Nagy.

Final Shoot out score was 2-0 giving the Springfield Lightning their first Intercounty Youth Soccer League Championship.

The boys dedicated the game to their teammate Devin Damast who couldn't play in the final game due to his Bar Mitzvah service coinciding with the game.
