Township Employees Will Work Scoreboard, Yo-Delight Opens Top Local News

Training Completed, Committeeman Ready to Keep Score Sunday


Township Committeeman Ziad Andrew Shehady, who volunteered to be trained in order to work the scoreboard in time for Springfield recreation leagues' final home games Sunday, received the required training Friday morning and is ready to keep score. 

At the same time, Township employee Danielle McLeer was trained as well. The two will share the duties Sunday, with Shehady working the first two games and McLeer serving for the second. 

Yo-Delight Serves Up More Than Just Froyo


Springfield's newest entry to the frozen dessert scene, Yo-Delight, opened Wednesday. Located at 901 Mountain Ave., inside Echo Plaza, the shop serves up plenty more than just froyo. 

Jewelry Thieves Lead Authorities on Multi-Town Chase, Police Say


Two Michigan men led authorities on a multi-town chase through Springfield and Short Hills Tuesday afternoon after stealing Tiffany & Co. jewelry from The Mall at Short Hills, police said.


Caldwell Place Road Improvement Project Starts Monday


The Township of Springfield is advising residents that construction work on Caldwell Place will begin Monday, weather permitting.
