Local Coat Drive Sees Early Sucess

Chiropractor Gary Hecht has already collected over 40 coats at his Mountain Ave. office.

Shortly after Thanksgiving, Springfield Chiropractor Gary Hecht made his first delivery of donated coats going to NJ Cares.

He told Springfield Patch the haul was big, with 45 coats collected at his location so far. The garments, a combination of men, women and children's coats, are being donated to the .

The collection goes until mid December and Dr. Hecht said he can give a receipt for the coats for tax purposes. He encourages Springfield residents to visit his practice's website, hechtchiropractic.com, for office hours.

Dr. Hecht's office is one of three township locations where Springfield residents can bring gently used coats. The on rte 22 is also accepting coats, and there is a drop off location at the PSE&G office at 24 Brown Avenue.
