"Snacks For Our Seniors" Are Readied For Distribution

Dedicated volunteers make the most of your donations

About a hundred and fifty bags filled with packets of coffee, tea, sweeteners, granola bars, cookies, chips, and Goldfish crackers were neatly stacked and packed on Debbie Neher's dining room table this weekend as she, Mindy Strauss and Gloria Rego (president of the Community Conference of Springfield Schools) prepared the goodies for distribution at Independence Way on Wednesday, April 21 at 6:30 p.m. and at Sarah Bailey the next day at their "Tea Party".

The snack part of "Snacks For Our Seniors" is an important segment of the programs at both facilities, which also include performances by local Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts as well as a short piano recital and a free raffle of prizes such as gift certificates to Art Nails and quilted tote bags. Libby's Family Pharmacy is providing ice cream treats and additional food comes courtesy of the Springfield Recreation Department.

This is the sixth year that the CCSSPG is providing the snacks.
