A note from FAS member Fred Ostry urging the community to enjoy some delicious pancakes and help out a community institution.

What do we want?

Pancakes!

When do we want them?

How about Sunday Morning?

Strange way to start an article involving the Springfield Volunteer First Aid Squad, I know.  But this morning, ancakes will be the emergency call for the day. From 8:30 until 1 p.m., pancakes with all the fixings will be offered to all who come to the First Aid Squad House located at 10 North Trivett Avenue, that’s in front of town hall. Donations will be accepted (suggested adults $5 children $3).

Since you are reading the Springfield Patch, you must have some relationship with the town of Springfield.  If you do, the Springfield Volunteer First Aid Squad has helped you or someone you know, in a time of need.

So here we are, why are we holding a “Pancake Breakfast”, and why the suggested donations?  Unlike other emergency services in town, we do not rely on tax dollars for our daily operation expenses.  None of our members are paid for the work they do or for the training and certification they receive. We rely on your donations to stay viable, as we have over the last 62 plus years.

Additionally, we would love to meet you, not by accident. Over the years we have met thousands of you, now we want to spend some time, get to know you, perhaps share a cup of coffee.

Our 60-plus years of serving the community has happened by your generosity and support, so why not come down and continue that support?

We’ve removed the ability to reply as we work to make improvements. Learn more here
