Election Day, PBA Hosts 'Movember' Drive This Week

Springfield public schools will be closed Tuesday, Thursday and Friday.

The Springfield Board of Education meets at 7:30 p.m. Monday in Jonathan Dayton High School's media center.

Tuesday is Election Day. Democratic incumbents Mayor David Amlen and Deputy Mayor Richard Huber face Republican challengers former Township Committeeman Jerry Fernandez and newcomer Diane Stampoulos at the polls. 

Voting locations are as follows and polls will be open from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m.:

Districts 1 and 4 vote at the Presbyterian Parish House
Districts 2 and 3 vote at the Sarah Bailey Civic Center 
Districts 5 and 6 vote at Caldwell School
Districts 7, 8 and 9 vote at Gaudineer School
Districts 10, 13 and 14 vote at Edward Walton 
Districts 11 and 12 vote at Sandmeier School

The members of Springfield PBA Local #76 are trying to help raise awareness of the health issues facing men today and are looking for your help in sponsoring a 'Mo.' Check back with Patch for more on this endeavor. 

At 7 p.m. Thursday, Ken Jakupko, of Ken’s Antiques located in the Summit Antiques Center, Summit, will be at the Springfield Free Public Library to offer appraisals on antiques, jewelry and other treasured objects. Jakupko has had more than 30 years of experience as an antique dealer. In addition to the Summit shop, he has locations in Allenhurst and Asbury Park. Ken's Antiques also displays at Antique Shows and Events on a monthly basis.
