Springfield Celebrates New Years' Eve, Reorganization Meeting Held New Year's Day

Springfield Township will ring in the new year with a reorganization meeting at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Municipal Buidling. Newly-elected Jerry Fernandez and re-elected Richard Huber will be sworn in. 

Springfield schools reopen Thursday. 

The Springfield Free Public Library's (Really Good!) Book Discussion Group will meet on Thursday at 7 p.m. to discuss Geisha: A Life by Mineko Iwasaki. Arthur Golden, author of Memoirs of a Geisha: A Novel, interviewed Mineko Iwasaki when he researched the subject.

Temple Beth Ahm Yisrael hosts 'Shabbat Alive!' at 6:30 p.m. Friday. A spiritual Kabbalat Shabbat that's fun for the whole family! Sing and dance to your favorite Shabbat tunes.
