Pool Improvements Discussion, Girl Scouts Host Open House This Week

The Springfield Township Committee will meet at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Municipal Building. The committee will hear the second and final reading of Ordinance #2013-16 – This ordinance is to appropriate monies from the General Capital surplus for renovation of the physical structures at the pool utility and purchase of equipment for certain capital projects for the pool utility. The committee will vote to approve the appointment of Sandra Harris to the Springfield Board of Health to fill the unexpired term of Dr. Samir Shah which expires on December 31, 2014. 

A Girl Scout Open House will be held from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. Tuesday at Sarah Bailey, located at 30 Church Mall. The open house will be held upstairs in the Girl Scout Room. 

On Tuesday, both Caldwell and Sandmeier schools host back to school nights.

Springfield Chiropractic Center will hold an 'Eating Organic Workshop' at 10 a.m. Thursday.

The Springfield Education Foundation is hoping to replicate the success of its past Sprint for Springfield Schools 5K. The third annual run/walk will be held Sunday, event times are as follows:
