Veterans Day Ceremony, Morris Ave. Corridor Workshop Held This Week

Bulldog auction and 'Arsenic & Old Lace' come to Jonathan Dayton High School this week.

Springfield Township will honor all those who have served in the armed forces with a ceremony starting at 11 a.m. Monday, Veterans Day, at Veterans Memorial Park, located at Shunpike Road and Mountain Avenue.

In honor of the holiday, municipal offices throughout Springfield will be closed Monday.

The Township of Springfield is inviting residents to an open house workshop to discuss the vision for the Morris Avenue Corridor. Together North Jersey will be conducting a four-month analysis to see how Springfield can improve the infrastructure of the Township, particularly Morris Avenue. The meeting will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Sarah Bailey Civic Center. 

Questions up for discussion include:

How do we create a safer and more walkable downtown?

How can we better mitigate future flooding and create quality open space?

The Bulldog Auction will be held starting at 6 p.m. Wednesday at Jonathan Dayton High School.

'Arsenic & Old Lace' will be performed at 7 p.m. Friday and Saturday at Dayton. Tickets will be sold at the door and are priced at $5 for students and senior citizens and $10 for adults.
