It's tough for new moms to find time to get and stay fit, so bring the kid and make him or her part of the exercise routine? At 9 a.m., bring the wee one to Unami Park in Cranford for a Stroller Strides Class. Stroller Strides is a free, full-body regimen for moms to do with their children. Visit www.westfield-warren.fit4mom.com for more details.
Some of you call this late summer, but to many, this is the season for finding a college. For them, Saturday is All College Day at Union County College.
Come to the Cranford campus for the rain or shine event, which starts at 11 a.m., and learn about clubs, meet fellow student and alumni, take a campus tour and get ready for the fall semester. Members of the faculty and staff will be available to answer questions. Union County College is located at 1033 Springfield Ave. in Cranford. For more information, visit www.ucc.edu.
Teens are the focus of the New Jersey/New York Teenage Expo, a free family event offering a view of what's trending for those between the ages of 13 and 19. You'll find lots of back to school shopping, food and workshops for teens, parents and teachers. There is fun too: Enjoy face painting, balloon sculptors, a free photo booth and a dance competition for parents and teachers. Vendors will be on hand to sell their wares and look for a contest in which you could win back to school cash! (What parent would say no to a windfall in time for the new school year?) The expo takes place Saturday from 3-9 p.m. and Sunday from 10 a.m.-8 p.m. at the New Jersey Convention and Expo Center, 97 Sunfield Ave. in Edison. To get free tickets, visit Eventbrite.
