First Presbyterian Church of Springfield
The First Presbyterian Church of Springfield is the oldest congregation in Springfield, having existed in the township since 1745. The church was founded during the colonial days, and was a sanctuary and storehouse during the American Revolution. During the Battle of Springfield, American soldiers reportedly used pages from the church’s hymnals as wadding for their muskets.
Today, the congregation is led by Pastor Vicky Ney. Congregants are invited to participate in groups such as Kaffeeklatsch Bible Study, Men's Fellowship and the church choir. Visit the website for more information about the church and its history.
