Free skate on Dec. 28.
The Springfield School System has announced its annual holiday skating event, which will be held on Monday Dec. 28 at Union Sports Arena from 5:15 p.m. to 6:45 p.m. The event is open to all Springfield students in grades K-8 and parents, as well as students grades K-8 and parents from Kenilworth. The event is free. Registration forms can be found here (link opens PDF). Parents can return completed forms to the main office of their childrens's school, rsvp via email to jdhsicehockey@springfieldschools.com or bring the slips to the rink the day of the skate. There will be hockey activities and games on 1/3 of the ice and a public skating session on the rest of the ice. See the Dayton Bulldog Hockey site for more information.
Too cold to play outside? Turn up the music and keep active indoors.
Squeezing in time outdoors has been a priority for our family. From playing on the deck or in the back yard, spending time at the playground or the zoo, we’ve managed to get some sun and old-fashioned playtime. Luckily November weather hasn’t been too bad for the stay-at-home momhood, but December may be another story. I've turned to music in my determination to keep my kids active.
