Monday Get your fresh veggies, ingredients and more. Springfield's weekly farmers' market is open today at the Jonathan Dayton High School parking lot from noon to 6 p.m. Tonight at 7 p.m., the library hosts its weekly scrabble games.  Springfield's School Board holds a rare summer meeting tonight at 7:30 p.m. at the Jonathan Dayton High School media center. Tuesday UPDATE: MEETING POSTPONED UNTIL SEPTEMBER. Monday Springfield schools are back in session after spring break. Springfield’s Rotary puts on the annual Taste of the Towns tonight at 6. Food and beverage vendors from Springfield and the surrounding area will be at Hotel 304 West. Tickets are $35 at the door. The Sarah Bailey Center hosts a day of bingo for area seniors starting at 1 p.m. The Environmental Commission holds their monthly meeting tonight at town hall at 8 p.m.  Tuesday The Dayton varsity softball team takes on Glen Ridge at a 4 p.m. home game today. Monday Springfield's Board of Education meets at the media center of Jonathan Dayton High School. Public sessions start at 7:30 p.m. The agenda is online here (link opens PDF). Tuesday The Rotary Club holds a blood drive at the Presbyterian Church from 11:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. The Rotarians have partnered with McLynn’s for the event, and everyone who donates a pint of blood gets a pint of the beverage of their choice in return.   The Township Committee holds its semi-monthly meeting tonight at 7 p.m. at town hall. Wednesday New Jersey Governor Governor Chris Christie holds a town hall event at 10:30 a.m. at the Westfield Armory. Monday Springfield’s Schools and its Municipal offices are closing in observation of Martin Luther King Day. The Township holds an MLK Day remembrance ceremony at 10 a.m. at town hall.  Tuesday Springfield’s Business Improvement District meets this morning at 8:30 am at the Fire Department headquarters.  Wednesday The Edward V. Walton PTA meets at the School at 7:30 p.m. Thursday The Guadineer and Dayton choirs perform their winter concert the high school tonight at 7 p.m. The Springfield Library Board holds its monthly meeting tonight at the library. Friday Temple Sha’arey Shalom offers a Scholar-in-Residence Shabbat on Friday, January 20, 2012 at 8 pm featuring guest speaker Rabbi David Goldstein.
