Congressman Leonard Lance will be at the Cranford Community center Friday afternoon.
Congressman Leonard Lance and his staff will hold a mobile office in Cranford on Nov. 2 to assist Union County residents and small businesses with Hurricane Sandy disaster assistance. The legislator will host office hours from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Cranford Community Center, 220 Walnut Ave., which is also serving as a regional shelter for those displaced by Hurricane Sandy. The day before Hurricane Sandy slammed into the region, Lance met with officials in cranford and Springfield and vowed to make relief efforts a priority following the storm. Congressman Leonard Lance (NJ-07) announced today that his congressional district offices in Westfield and Flemington will serve as drop off locations for food and book donations for needy children throughout the month of October. The drive is part of an effort spearheaded by the United Way of Northern New Jersey and the Courier News – who are collecting items for the United Way’s Weekend Backpack program. Congressman Leonard Lance's office held a mobile office at the Springfield Free Public Library on Wednesday, August 15. Lance's office said the mobile office was meant for people needing assistance with a federal agency or who would like to offer a comment about any issue pending before the Congress. A number of residents came out to pepper the Representative with questions.

Calling our tax system "too complex," Congressman Leonard Lance, R-7, and local officials visited the Cranford Post Office the day before Tax Day to oppose new taxes proposed by President Barack Obama and to urge tax reform. This week, Congressman Leonard Lance, NJ-7, met with U.S. Army Corps of Engineers officials to discuss flood control measures for the town of Cranford. Following the meeting the Seventh District lawmaker announced that the federal agency has agreed to provide $225,000 in 2012 to continue funding a flood control feasibility study. Cranford is also slated to receive $3.1 million from the federal government to help elevate flood-prone homes that were damaged during Hurricane Irene. “I personally witnessed the devastation to Cranford in the aftermath of Hurricane Irene,” said Lance. “Homes were ruined, families were displaced and municipal operations were relocated.
