On Tuesday, May 15, Zakiyyah Shakoor, 37, of Wilboro was found to have over $50,000 worth of heroin hidden in her car during a routine traffic stop on route 22. Shakoor reportedly broke into tears after officers asked for her license and other motor vehicle papers. Police reportedly found a pound and a half of heroin crammed inside a fast food restaurant paper bag in the car. The Springfield Township Committee are considering making dramatic changes to the township’s board of health. Under the proposed changes, the health committee would be composed of the township committee members and two residents.
