A graduate of the University of South Carolina with bachelor of arts degrees in journalism and international studies, Carmen Slaybaugh moved to West Hartford from Baltimore, MD. In addition to her communication work for nonprofits, she has written for several small newspapers, Agora Inc., Johns Hopkins University Press and most recently for the Fort Jackson U.S. Army Training Facility. Carmen also has a successful freelance career. She lives with her husband, AJ Murphy, and their golden retriever Gunnar and
Persian cat Daisy.
